The apparent distorted fish-eye effect in this shot was a 'natural' product of the camera I used when focused this close up on a round subject. Definitely not the result of a special lens or PP effect.

Not a sharp picture at all, despite the application of some fairly significant sharpening in CS3. Not entirely sure why not, though it was getting on towards dusk and I was shooting hand-held when I took it (though blur doesn't appear to really be the issue). Huh...
Despite the obvious cons with the photo, the composition and such are excellent (I think). I like it.

Lens used: Canon 50mm f1.4Skunk Cabbage = healthy stream and riparian area.
They're also the first flash of color you'll see in the spring around these parts (even beating out the crocus). As this photo shows, not even a late-season snow fall can deter them from sprouting.
